FilmToledo is announcing an open call for our Board of Directors and Advisory Council! We are looking for dedicated, passionate and collaborative individuals that will help expand our organization and further our mission to grow our local film community and bring film productions to Toledo and Northwest Ohio.
Potential Board and Advisory Council members should have a familiarity with the film industry and the Toledo/NW Ohio region. Prior experience with nonprofit organizations and fundraising is a plus. Please provide a resume and short statement about your qualifications.
Requirements for All Positions:
- Completion of a full term (2024-2027)
- Dedicate 2+ hours a week to the position (dependent on time of year)
- Positive representation of FilmToledo in our community
- Attendance at quarterly board meetings (virtual and/or in-person)
- Attendance at FilmToledo events and fundraisers as needed (virtual and/or in-person)
Director of Events and Programming – 3 Year Term
FilmToledo hosts and sponsors a range of events, from educational workshops to fundraisers to film festivals, working with a number of local organizations to plan, promote and execute these events. The Director of Events and Programming will assist in planning and managing these events, creating schedules and working with the rest of our staff to ensure events are run efficiently and within our budget requirements. Strong organizational skills are a must.
Director of Financial Resources – 3 Year Term
As an independent non-profit organization, FilmToledo depends on donations from individuals and local organizations in order to cover its operating expenses. The Director of Financial Resources will work to set yearly fundraising goals, implement fundraising plans and find new avenues to raise funds from individuals and businesses through in-person meetings, networking events, email, direct mail and social media campaigns. This position will also be responsible for grant-writing for our organization, as well as sharing local and regional grant opportunities for filmmakers. Previous experience in fundraising and non-profit work is required.
Advisory Council – 3 Year Term
We are also looking for potential Advisory Council members from a variety of backgrounds, with diverse personal and professional experiences, to share their ideas and advice to help strengthen our organization. Experience with the Toledo/NW Ohio filmmaking community, local government, community organizations, businesses and nonprofits is a plus. While the Advisory Council meets with the Board of Directors quarterly, these are non-voting positions.
