Dear friends of the Northwest Ohio film and television industry,
Members of Congress and U.S. Senators are currently considering a federal film and television production incentive to spur domestic production across all 50 states.
I am asking you to join us in publicly supporting this effort – one that will help keep and attract more production here in the United States, and grow our industry right here in Northwest Ohio. Participation is entirely voluntary.
Ohio’s state-level production incentive, the Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credit, has already proven essential in bringing productions like Eenie Meanie, A Man Called Otto, and more film and television productions to our region – generating real jobs, real crew hours, and real economic impact. But in recent years, foreign countries have drawn film and television production overseas by launching national incentive policies that stack on top of provincial ones. Ohio’s state incentive and a federal incentive are both needed for us to compete.
A federal incentive would deliver a major economic boost, bring high-paying jobs back to the U.S., and help keep this signature American industry – and the momentum we’re building here in Northwest Ohio – at home.
And now we need your help to make this happen.
FilmToledo has joined the Greater Cleveland Film Commission and film commissions across the state in a unified push for this federal incentive. A letter of support, addressed to members of the U.S. House and Senate representing Ohio, is open for signatures now.
We’re asking every corner of Ohio’s film industry – crew, producers, actors, directors, vendors, and more – to add their name. Please sign by 11:59 PM ET on Sunday, September 13, 2026. Signed letters will be delivered directly to our Senators and Representatives in Congress.
